revegetation zones map 1

1972 May Original Planting Zones National Park Service Map

A map of indigenous revegetation zones designed for the Organ Pipes National Park by Barry Kemp. The map integrates seven different planting zones, which Kemp identified based on remnant indigenous vegetation and historical records. The map was designed to guide FOOPs in restoration of the park, and we still follow it in our planting and revegetation work today.

We acknowledge their deep ongoing connection to, and care of, this land. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
